Prof. Michal Biron

Head of the Center for the study of organizations & Human Resource Management

Michal Biron (PhD) is the head of the Center for the study of Organizations & Human Resource Management, an Associate Professor at Haifa School of Business, University of Haifa (Israel), and a visiting Associate Professor at the Foster Business School, University of Washington (USA). Michal’s research integrates topics from human resource management and organizational behavior. Her work has been published in high-impact journals, and she has co-authored and co-edited books and special issues. She has been recently awarded the Humboldt Foundation Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. Michal is a member (elected) of the Executive Board of the Academy of Management’s Human Resources Division, and a board member (elected) of the European Academy of Management. She has completed a 5-year term as a member (elected) of the Global Young Academy. In her free time, Michal enjoys travelling with her husband and three girls, running and reading.

Prof. Shay Tzafrir 

Dean of teaching and learning, University of Haifa

Prof. Tzafrir is the Dean of teaching and learning and professor at Haifa School of Business Administration, University of Haifa. Between 2016 to 2021, he served as the head of Haifa School of Business Administration (HSBA) as well as the head of the Center for the study of organizations & Human Resource Management. He received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in behavioral science from the Technion – Israel institute of Technology. He has also earned a B.A and M.A. in political science, as well as LLB, all from the University of Haifa. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Trust Research and is a member of the Editorial Review Board in Human Resource Management. He is proud to have co-founded, the Journal of The Study of Organizational and HRM Quarterly (Hebrew), for its social impact and contribution to the business community in Israel. He is also part of the international mentoring program at WWU Munster. Prof. Tzafrir has had a longstanding interest in people management and organizational behavior. He specializes in issues of human resource management and trust, and in particular in the efficiency aspects of human capital. His current research interest includes the role trust plays in various organizational factors such as, organizational performance, and service quality. His articles have been published in journals such as Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational and Occupational Psychology, British Journal of Management, Organizational Studies, International journal of Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Review, and others.

Prof. Itzhak Harpaz

President of Yezreel Valley College

Prof. Harpaz (PhD, Human Resources & Labor Studies, University of Minnesota) is President of Yezreel Valley College. He was Dean of Graduate Studies, and Director and founder of the Center for the Study of Organizations & Human Resource Management at the University of Haifa. Prof. Harpaz has served in a number of public offices, including as a lay judge in Israel’s National labor Court, and the chairperson of the Industrial Relations Research Association of Israel. Prof. Harpaz is an author or co-author of numerous scientific publications and books. He has received many awards & grants from prominent institutions such as the European Commission, BSF, ISF, Ministry of Science, Ministry of Labor, and NIII. Current research interests include: Heavy Work Investment, Unemployment and Work & Health.

Dr. Orna Blumen 

Department of Human Services, University of Haifa

Dr. Blumen is at the Faculty of Social Welfare and Health Sciences, Department of Human Services, University of Haifa, Israel. Her research focuses mainly on gender and home-work links, spanning from the investigation of workers’ commuting patterns and the ride experience to the study of how workers’ job involvement is perceived in their families, notably by their children and spouses. She unpacks these circumstances in the diverse Israeli society with regard to high-tech engineers, upper middle class women, and with special attention to the intersection of gender and the meaning of paid/unpaid work in the Ultra-Orthodox community and to the transformation of Arab society, mostly the Druze collective. She was among the founders of the Israeli Association for Feminist and Gender Studies, served on the editorial board of Journal of Managerial Psychology, of Migdar (gender): An Interdisciplinary Academic Journal for Gender and Feminist Research, and among the founders of the recently launched journal The Study of Organizations and Human Resource Management Quarterly, and guest co-editor of Hagar: Studies in Culture, Polity and Identities (Vol.11). in last eight years  she serves on the steering committee of the IGU Commission on Gender and Geography.

Mr. Tamir Frank

Director of the Research Authority, University of Haifa

Mr. Frank is the director of the Research Authority in Haifa University. Mr. Frank holds a B.A. in Business Administration, is a graduate of the U.K. army Officers Course and holds an M.A. in Political Science. Served for many years in the Israeli Defense Forces at officer positions and worked as Senior Director at “ELBIT” Technology Company.

Dr. Arie Reshef

School of Business, University of Haifa

 

Dr. Reshef Ph.D.(in educational psychology) is a senior lecturer at the Sir Harry Solomon School of Management at the Western Galilee Academic College and an external lecturer at the School of Business Administration at the University of Haifa. He Served in various positions in the IDF, including: Air Force Flight School psychologist (military rank- Major), Head of R&D training unit at IDF General Staff (military rank- Lieutenant Colonel).  After retiring from the IDF, he served as Head of customers’ training department, head of training and organizational development department and as human resource manager of R&D Engineering unit at Rafael. As part of his academic activities, he is interested the psychology of moral behavior and behavioral ethics and had focused on research on the moral blindness of business managers and the implementation of ethics programs in organizations. He is a member of the American Business Ethics Association and the Editor in Chief of the Study of The Organization and Human Resource Quarterly.

Prof. Ilan Meshoulam 

School of Business, University of Haifa

Prof. Meshoulam received his doctorate degree in 1984 in Business Administration from Boston University (after receiving a BA in Accounting from Haifa U, A Ba in Finance, American University, and MBA from American U and an MBA focusing on Strategy from Boston U). He joined the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management in 1996, where he was a Professor of Management, and manger of the MBA program. Since 1999 he is a Professor at the Haifa University, Israel, was the head of the Graduate School of Management. Much of his research has focused on Strategic Human Resource. His work has was published in the Academy of Management Review, Human Resource Management, and Journal of High Technology Management Research. He published 3 books in HRM Strategy and many articles. Prior to joining the Technion he had spent over twenty-five years as Co-President, Vice President, and other executive positions, in multinationals High Technology firms, both in Israel and the US, such as Control Data Co., Digital Equipment Co., Intel Co., Elbit Co., and others. He also consulted in Management and Strategy to many large firms in Israel. Parallelly he served as a member of the Board of Directors in a few organizations as Elron, Carmel,  Emek Israel College, the West Galili College. He also served for many years as the President of the Israel Human Resource Society.

Prof. Yitzhak Samuel

School of Business, University of Haifa

Prof. Samuel Is Professor emeritus of Sociology at the University of Haifa. The career of prof. Samuel  consists of many functions, of which the last ones were Vice President of the Western Galilee Academic College, and later on the Dean of the Faculty of Management at the of University of Haifa. His areas of interest are: Theory of organizations, organizational politics, organizational pathology, organizational dynamics, management, and applied sociology. He published professional books on organizations, both in Hebrew and in English.

Prof. Guy Enosh

School of Social Work

University of Haifa

 

Prof. Enosh (MSW, PhD) is professor of social work, at the School of Social Work, Faculty of Social Welfare and Health Sciences, the University of Haifa. He is the chair of the University Institutional Committee for Ethical Research with Human Beings.  His research focuses on the ways by which knowledge is constructed and decisions are made within interpersonal relationships. Where relationships may range from trust and cooperation to distrust, conflict, and aggression; and the populations in focus include families, workplace relationships (e.g., social workers and clients); and research relationships (researchers, participants, and other stakeholders). He recently published (with Adital Ben-Ari) a book regarding research relationships and knowledge construction:  Ben-Ari, A. & Enosh, G. (2020). Dialectics, power, and knowledge construction in qualitative research: Beyond Dichotomy. Routledge.

Mrs. Dorit Shahaf

Manager, Human Resources, IBM Labs

Mrs. Shahaf is experienced HR leader in global companies, with extensive experience in talent management, leadership development, employees engagement, change management and restructuring. She built organizational capabilities, led HR teams and led several integration activities in Israel. Mrs. Shahaf is currently the HR manager of the IBM Software Development Labs in Israel.

Mrs. Sara Tzezana

Head of Human Resources Division (Former), University of Haifa

Mrs. Tzezana retired after 33 years of work at the university of Haifa, where she was manager of the administrative staff department and the head of human resources from 2010 – 2019. Graduated from the Technion’s Behavioral and Management Sciences.

Dr. Laliv Egozi 

Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene (IIOSH)

Dr. Egozi (PhD) is a researcher in the Israel Institute for Occupational Safety and Hygiene (IIOSH), a Lecturer on the Industrial engineering & Management school in Afeka College and on the Western Galilee college of organizational behavior, industrial psychology and, social psychology. Dr. Egozi has served in the last four years as the editing manager of the Study of Organizations and Human Resource Management Quarterly. Her research domains are organizational behavior and employees’ safety and health. Dr. Egozi started her professional career as a Food Technologist on the R&D departments of Tnuva and Materna. Later she was the CEO of the Haifa Rape Crisis Center. Dr. Egozi voluntarily analyses statistical data for the annual reports of The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel.
