The COHRM center began operating in 1999, with its focus being the study of human behavior in organizations. The human behavior in the organization is gaining a more central place than ever in society and organizations’ research. With the rapid development of knowledge organizations, management in general, and the methods of managing human resources in particular, are becoming a crucial factor in the success of the organization and the achievement of its goals. The main goal of the center is to promote knowledge in the field of labor relations and human resources through research and dissemination, learning and development, interdisciplinary research collaboration and social involvement. The center is multidisciplinary and the only one of its kind in Israel and serves as a basis for scientific and research interactions between researchers, research colleagues, as well as advanced research students. Through the Center’s Journal (“Quarterly for Organizational Research and Human Resource Management”), annual seminars, annual conference and research groups, the Center’s researchers’ aspiration to promote research in the field of labor relations and human resources as well as to develop close ties between researchers and industry, thus turning the center into a national knowledge center, from which new knowledge will emerge in everything related to the behavioral aspect of management. The center is headed by Prof. Shay Tzafrir – Head of the School of Business at the University of Haifa.
